David is an employment, business, and commercial litigator representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants, with a particular focus on wrongful termination, post-employment restrictive covenants, compensation disputes and negotiations, and personal and business torts.  He also devotes some of his practice to termination and severance counseling for both employers and employees.  David has significant experience as lead counsel in state and federal cases, as well as numerous successful settlements, mediations, and other pre-trial resolutions.

McCandlish Lillard’s President, Lawrence J. McClafferty, said, “Our firm has a long history of providing extraordinary legal representation, and David and our other young associates and principals position us to do so well into the future. We take special pleasure when our associates become our law partners.”

David is a proud Fairfax, Virginia native, and knew at the age of fourteen that he would spend his professional career trying cases in the D.C. metropolitan area.  David received his B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh, cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.  David also proudly serves his local community through various volunteer organizations, including serving as Co-Chair of the Fairfax Bar’s Law Related Education Committee and as a Barrister at the George Mason Inn of Court.
