McCandlish Lillard is pleased to announce that Caitlyn M. Bender, Esq. has been officially sworn in as a Member of the Virginia Bar!
Caitlyn joined McCandlish Lillard in September 2023 as an associate attorney after serving as a summer associate with the Firm in 2022. It is the Firm’s practice to expose new attorneys to as many different disciplines as possible – specialization can come later. Accordingly, Caitlyn with be working with Firm attorneys from virtually all of its practice groups, to include civil litigation, real estate, family law, and estate planning. Caitlyn works primarily in the firm’s Leesburg Office but represents clients across Northern Virginia.
Caitlyn is a Northern Virginia native and obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware, where she received an Honors Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Political Science. Caitlyn received her law degree from the College of William & Mary School of Law, where she served as the Executive Editor of the William and Mary Bill of Rights Journal, the academic chair of the Women’s Law Society, and the Auction Coordinator for the Public Service Fund. Caitlyn also served as a student attorney for the law school’s Domestic Violence Clinic.

We are excited to be part of that future and will strive to ensure that she reaches her fullest potential as a practicing attorney in the Commonwealth.”
Caitlyn is a member of the Loudoun County Bar Association and the Fairfax County Bar Association and is looking forward to getting more involved with the Thomas D. Horne Leadership in the Law Program.
When away from the office, Caitlyn enjoys baking, reading, and watching collegiate and professional sports.
